My friend Zhang Zijing lives in Xijiang, Sichuan Province. He once told me about a temple there called Xijiang Temple. The temple overlooks the river, where the water flows swiftly. Boats navigating through this area seem to glide on flat ground. Behind the temple, there is a spring that cascades down from the mountain peak, resembling a white silk ribbon hanging in the air. The monks built a pavilion beside the spring, naming it Flying Spring Pavilion. Although the pavilion is simple and unadorned, gazing out from the railing offers a view as picturesque as a painting, captivating the heart.

Inside the pavilion stands a stele inscribed with the words "Flying Spring," its calligraphy powerful and robust, written by a renowned artist of the previous dynasty. Upon seeing this pavilion, I was moved by its serenity and composed a poem to commemorate it. The poem goes: "From the Flying Spring Pavilion, I gaze upon the river's flow, waves rolling and surging without end. The ancient temple's bell startles roosting birds; green mountains' hues seep into tall buildings."
